The next time you are out driving or
walking thru Tucson…look around….and
count to yourself the number of time
you see graffiti vandalism. Graffiti
ridden neighborhoods send a message
that encourages other crimes, lowers
property values and causes business
to lose customers. The City of Tucson
has over 5,000 incidents of graffiti
reported each month and that’s not
even all of them. The Tucson Police
Department is cracking down with a
zero tolerance policy but it’s going to
take the help of the citizens of The Old
Pueblo to take our neighborhoods back.
Clean up costs the City $1.5 million
dollars EVERY YEAR. Some say graffiti
is art…but art should increase the value
and beauty of your property and
neighborhood. Graffiti isn’t art.
It’s a crime.
If you see graffiti happening…
REPORT IT by calling 911 or
88-Crime. This helps police
track and build a case against
the vandals. That way a judge
can stick THEM with the bill for
clean up when they are caught
instead of the taxpayers.
All calls are kept anonymous.
So don’t just talk about
it…get involved!
