Surviving an abusive childhood & alcoholic father, Knox turned to music early in his life as an escape from reality. After his parents divorce & some troubles with the law, Knox & a childhood friend started doing music as the group Brew Crew. They toured the nation and opened for such acts as Tech N9ne, Cypress Hill, Rakim & 2 Live Crew, but the party scene was getting a little old for Knox. Dealing with personal issues, drug addictions, recently becoming a father & the loss of his mother to cancer, Knox decided to step away from Brew Crew to venture out as a solo artist. He wanted to develop a sound that was true to how he felt and described the emotions and situations he was going through in his life. He wanted to do music that was true to the heart. So instead of money, parties & woman, Knox writes about the hardship and pain that every peson feels in life. He's able to have every listen relate to him with every word.
